The Origin of Joe
Officially, I’m Timur Rahman, but I’ve been known as Joe (from my middle name, Yusuf) since primary school. When I launched my consultancy, Digital Joe was the natural choice.
From 48k of RAM to the Future of AI
My passion for tech started at age eight, coding a simple pixel dodging game on a ZX Spectrum 48k after being inspired by the movie WarGames. That early spark grew into an A-Level, BSc, and MSc in Computer Science, along with a lifelong love for technology and gaming.
20+ Years of Real-World Experience
I spent over two decades teaching Computer Science. When I took over my school’s struggling department, we turned it around to rank in the top 20% nationally. That experience, alongside serving as a governor at Bury College, taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly and implement digital tools strategically across organisations.
Demystifying Data Science & AI
Since 2021, I’ve coached professionals in Data Science and AI, stripping away the jargon to make learning interactive, practical, and hands-on. I help clients navigate AI strategy, generative and agentic AI, and data engineering so they can turn raw data into automated insights.
